MU JUSTICE

JUSTICE (Jesuit University Students Together In Concerned Empowerment) is a Marquette University Student Organization dedicated to education and action surrounding social justice issues. We have led campaigns focusing on fair trade, gender equality, Sudan divestment, worker's rights, and other issues. Each year we hold a Social Justice Teach-In to promote awareness on campus, and send a group to Fort Benning, GA, for the annual School of the Americas Protest and Vigil.

More Neat Stuff

Student Leadership Summit
Taking place Oct. 7 from 9 AM- 2 PM. The summit is titled "Faith and Learning in Action," and includes service work (visits to cool Milwaukee agencies such as Growing Power and Repairers of the Breach), reflection, free lunch, and a lot of other cool things. Registration is FREE, and can be done online at www.marquette.edu/osd.

Miles For Meals
A run/walk on Oct. 6 to raise money for Midnight Run. It's only $15, includes a t-shirt, and the money goes to a great organization right here at Marquette. Registration is probably available somewhere, but I'm not sure--keep an eye out.

Crop Walk
A walk through downtown Milwaukee on Oct. 8 to raise money for hunger issues. Stay tuned for more info...

Dan Maguire at MSOE
Marquette theologian Dan Maguire will be presenting "War (is) For Dummies" this Saturday, Sept. 23 at 9:30 AM at MSOE. Lianna Bishop (lianna.bishop@mu.edu) will be leading a group over there, so if you would like a group to go with, contact her.

JUSTICE Solidarity Supper
Our next Solidarity Supper will be Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 PM. Great food, great friends, great times--you should definitely come. Detailed info will be sent out sometime before Oct. 5.
