JUSTICE (Jesuit University Students Together In Concerned Empowerment) is a Marquette University Student Organization dedicated to education and action surrounding social justice issues. We have led campaigns focusing on fair trade, gender equality, Sudan divestment, worker's rights, and other issues. Each year we hold a Social Justice Teach-In to promote awareness on campus, and send a group to Fort Benning, GA, for the annual School of the Americas Protest and Vigil.

Oxfam's Adopt-a-Supermarket Campaign

If anyone is interested in pursuing Fair Trade issues in the Milwaukee community, a great opportunity exists with Oxfam's Adopt-a-Supermarket Campaign. The campaign is looking for people to "adopt" a local supermarket and, essentially, create a report card for the store regarding the availability of Fair Trade products. One would then use the report as leverage to increase the amount of Fair Trade products in the store. It's a pretty cool campaign, and can be accomplished in a few hours here or there. If anyone is interested in this, or would simply like to learn more about the campaign, please email me at
